Description

Globalstar Europe, operating in France, provides satellite communication services as part of the broader Globalstar network across Europe. Using Mobile Country Code (MCC) 208, identifying France, and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 07, Globalstar distinguishes itself from traditional terrestrial mobile networks like Orange France, SFR, and Bouygues Telecom as it focuses on providing ubiquitous coverage, especially in areas where these networks struggle to reach. This satellite-based coverage is invaluable for industries like maritime, agriculture, and remote research, as well as for emergency responders operating outside the reach of conventional GSM networks within France.

While not directly competing for everyday mobile phone users in densely populated areas like Paris or Lyon where 4G and 5G are readily available, Globalstar fills a critical niche; it does this by offering voice and data services via satellite. Unlike terrestrial networks which rely on cell towers, Globalstar utilizes a constellation of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites to deliver connectivity. This makes it a very important communications provider for individuals and businesses requiring consistent communications capabilities when their location presents challenges for traditional mobile networks around the varied terrain of France; from the Alps, to the Pyrenees, to open water navigation around the coasts.
