Description

Régie autonome des transports parisiens (RATP), While known for its comprehensive public transport system in Paris and the Île-de-France region, Including the Metro, bus, tramway, and RER services, RATP also operates a mobile network within France. Identified by the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 208, which designates France, and the Mobile Network Code (MNC) 87, the RATP mobile network infrastructure primarily supports its internal communications and operational needs, enabling efficient coordination across its vast transit network. Unlike major French mobile operators such as Orange (208-01), SFR (208-10), or Bouygues Telecom (208-20), RATP’s mobile network is not generally available to the public for consumer mobile services.

The RATP mobile network plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Paris's complex transportation ecosystem. Leveraging its assigned MCC and MNC, RATP utilises the network for various applications, including real-time monitoring of train and bus locations, facilitating communication between drivers and central control, and supporting passenger information systems. While not offering direct mobile services comparable to other providers in Europe or France, the network is essential to RATP's continued commitment to deliver a efficient experience across one of Europe’s busiest and most comprehensive public transport networks. The network provides a reliable method for managing services at scale, and ensuring it can maintain services for the millions of people who use it every single day.
