Yoigo, officially Xfera Móviles S.A., is a mobile network operator in Spain, holding the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 214 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 04. Launched in 2006, Yoigo distinguished itself early on by offering simpler tariff plans and a focus on data services. Operating within the competitive Spanish mobile market, alongside established players like Movistar, Vodafone, and Orange, Yoigo aimed to capture market share by appealing to customers seeking value and transparency. Its initial strategy involved building its own 3G and 4G infrastructure, although it later moved towards a more hybrid approach utilizing network sharing agreements to enhance coverage across Spain. Throughout its history, Yoigo has undergone ownership changes, most notably the acquisition by MásMóvil Group in 2016. This acquisition significantly strengthened MásMóvil's position as the fourth-largest mobile operator in Spain. Post-acquisition, Yoigo continues to operate as a distinct brand under the MásMóvil umbrella, retaining its focus on competitive pricing and innovative service offerings. As a member of the MásMóvil group (now part of the MasOrange group after the merger with Orange Spain), Yoigo contributes to a larger network infrastructure and benefits from shared resources, enabling it to compete effectively in the dynamic Spanish telecommunications landscape.
