Description

Lycamobile Italy, operating under MCC 222 and MNC 35, provides mobile network services throughout Italy, a country situated in Southern Europe. As a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), Lycamobile leverages the existing infrastructure of established Italian mobile networks, like TIM or Vodafone Italia, to deliver affordable prepaid plans and international calling options. Because of its MVNO status, coverage across Italy is dependent on the host networks agreement, but generally provides extensive coverage in major cities such as Rome, Milan, Naples, and Turin, as well as throughout the Italian peninsula and islands, offering a viable alternative to traditional Italian mobile providers for residents and tourists alike.

Lycamobile's popularity in Italy stems from its focus on serving international communities and travellers, offering competitive rates for international calls to other European countries and beyond. This allows users to stay connected with family and friends abroad. Competing networks like Iliad Italia have also entered the market with similar low-cost offerings, intensifying the competition for budget-conscious consumers, however Lycamobile attempts to differentiate itself through superior international options. Recent changes in roaming regulations within the EU have also impacted Lycamobile’s service offerings for customers travelling in Europe.
