Description

---

Căile Ferate Române CFR, while primarily known as the national railway company of Romania, also operates a mobile network under the Mobile Network Code (MNC) 19 and Mobile Country Code (MCC) 226, falling within the European country's telecommunications landscape. It's somewhat of an uncommon setup, with a national railway extending into mobile communications, potentially aimed at supporting its operational needs like secure communication for train operations, staff coordination, and passenger information systems. While details publicly available about CFR's mobile network operations are limited, it's reasonable to assume its infrastructure might prioritize coverage along major railway lines.

In comparison to larger mobile network operators like Orange Romania, Vodafone Romania, or Telekom Romania Mobile, CFR's mobile network likely serves a more niche purpose. It's possible that its services are largely internally focused, catering to the specific communication demands of Romania's railway infrastructure. However, further community contributions are needed to provide a truly complete view of CFR's role and service offerings within Romania's diverse mobile network market. Its presence, designated under MNC 19 within Romania's MCC 226, highlights the varied ways in which communication networks can develop and serve specialized sectors within a country.
