Description

UPC Schweiz GmbH, operating under the brand name UPC cablecom, is a prominent mobile network operator in Switzerland, a country located in the heart of Europe. Identified by its Mobile Country Code (MCC) of 228, which signifies Switzerland, and a Mobile Network Code (MNC) of 53, UPC cablecom provides essential mobile services to a significant portion of the Swiss population. They work as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator to provide coverage to their customers, and often partner with other Mobile Network Operators such as Salt Mobile SA to lease spectrum.

Switzerland's mobile landscape is competitive, with Swisscom and Sunrise UPC being major players alongside UPC cablecom. While Swisscom boasts extensive nationwide coverage, UPC cablecom carved its niche by initially focusing on cable television and internet services, later expanding into the mobile market, to become the fourth biggest provider in Switzerland. Although UPC are a telecommunications company now owned by Sunrise, their coverage and services have allowed them to be a staple within Switzerland, and an important part of Swiss telecommunications. Their MCC and MNC codes remain essential identifiers within the global mobile network ecosystem.
