Description

Správa železniční dopravní cesty, s.o. (SŽDC), identified by Mobile Network Code (MNC) 98 under Mobile Country Code (MCC) 230, operates a dedicated mobile network within the Czech Republic, primarily focused on providing communication services for railway operations. Unlike commercial mobile network operators such as T-Mobile CZ, Vodafone CZ, and O2 Czech Republic, SŽDC’s network is specifically tailored for internal use, supporting critical functions like train control, signaling, and maintenance communications across the national railway infrastructure. The network utilizes specific radio frequencies and technologies optimized for reliable and secure communication in challenging railway environments, often leveraging specialized equipment and protocols.

While the major Czech mobile operators provide widespread 4G and 5G services to the general public, SŽDC's network serves a very different purpose, with investment and development geared towards resilience and interoperability with railway systems. Given its mission-critical nature, it has to adhere to stringent regulations and industry standards to maintain the safety and efficiency of the Czech Republic's rail network. The deployment and maintenance of SŽDC's mobile infrastructure is vital for modernizing and optimizing railway operations across the country, differentiating it from publicly available mobile service providers.
