Description

Železnice Slovenskej Republiky (ŽSR), operating with Mobile Network Code (MNC) 99 under Mobile Country Code (MCC) 231, provides mobile network services primarily focused on railway operations within Slovakia. While not traditionally a consumer-facing mobile network like Orange Slovensko or Telekom SK, ŽSR utilizes its network for critical communications related to train control, signaling, and internal operational needs. This ensures efficient and safe railway management across the country, which plays a vital role in Slovakia's transport infrastructure within Europe. Think of them as the backbone for keeping Slovakia's trains running smoothly!

ŽSR's network implementation differs significantly from mobile operators catering to the general public. Their focus isn't on cellular data or voice calls for everyday users, but rather on reliable and specialized communications for railway staff, emergency services, and potentially emerging IoT applications connected to the rail network. The allocation of MCC 231 and MNC 99 allows devices and systems to identify and connect to ŽSR's network specifically. While other operators compete on coverage and speed for the average smartphone user, ŽSR concentrates on robust and secure communication solutions designed specifically for the demanding needs of a modern railway system, contributing silently to the efficiency of European rail transit.
