Description

UK Broadband Limited, operating under the brand name Relish, was a fixed wireless broadband provider in the United Kingdom. It primarily focused on providing internet services to homes and businesses, particularly in urban areas like London. Relish utilized a different infrastructure compared to traditional mobile networks like Vodafone, EE, O2 and Three, and didn't offer mobile phone services in the conventional sense. The network operated using spectrum in the 3.5 GHz band, and aimed to offer speeds competitive with fixed-line broadband connections without the need for a physical cable connection to the premises across areas in the UK. This was especially attractive in areas where installing fiber optic cables was difficult or costly, something common to most of Greater London.

Relish's mobile network code was (MNC) 51, operating under the mobile country code (MCC) 234, which designates networks within the United Kingdom. While other major UK mobile operators such as Vodafone (MNCs 15 and 91), EE (MNCs 30 and 34), O2 (MNCs 10 and 02) and Three (MNC 20) provided ubiquitous mobile voice and data services via 2G, 3G, and 4G technologies, Relish concentrated on fixed wireless broadband. In 2017, UK Broadband Limited was acquired by Three UK, and the Relish brand was subsequently phased out, with its spectrum and infrastructure integrated into Three's broader network. This acquisition enabled Three to enhance its 4G and future 5G capabilities, increasing network capacity and coverage within the UK.
