Description

Traficom, operating in Finland under Mobile Country Code (MCC) 244 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 11, is a critical entity within the Finnish telecommunications landscape. As the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency, Traficom plays a pivotal role not just as a mobile network operator, but also as the regulatory authority overseeing mobile communications in Finland. Unlike Elisa, DNA, and Telia Finland, which are primarily focused on providing mobile services to consumers, Traficom's main purpose is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the entire communications infrastructure through regulation, licensing, and allocation of resources like frequencies used by mobile networks.

In addition to regulatory functions, Traficom may also operate specialized mobile communication networks supporting government, public safety, and critical infrastructure applications. While the big three operators focus on robust consumer offerings like 5G, Traficom concentrates its efforts on maintaining a secure and resilient communication environment for essential services. This focus on infrastructure and governance complements the work of other operators within the highly competitive Finnish telecom market, contributing to Finland's reputation for advanced telecommunications.
