Description

KTK Telecom/Volna Mobile, operating within the Russian Federation, is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) providing services primarily in the Crimean Peninsula. Using the Mobile Network Code (MNC) 60 under the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 250, it differentiates itself from other major Russian mobile carriers like MTS, Beeline, and MegaFon by focusing on the unique connectivity needs of this specific region. Established after the geopolitical shifts in Crimea, Volna Mobile aims to offer reliable and affordable mobile communication solutions where other national operators might face operational challenges.

As an MVNO, Volna Mobile doesn't own its own network infrastructure but instead leases capacity from an existing mobile network operator within Russia. The usage of MCC 250, specific to the Russian Federation, ensures the network is recognized and functions correctly within the national telecommunications framework. The company aims to provide tailored plans and services that recognize the demand for cost-effective data and voice solutions, with the aim is to facilitate strong local communication and connectivity within the Crimean Peninsula, but also for visitors requiring roaming solutions from mainland Russia. The "Volna" (Wave) branding could potentially represent their commitment to connectivity to coastal users within Crimea, as well to the vast landscape.
