Description

Føroya Tele, operating as Faroese Telecom, proudly serves the Faroe Islands with its mobile network, identified globally by Mobile Country Code (MCC) 288 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 1. As the primary telecommunications provider in this autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, located in Europe, Faroese Telecom provides vital connectivity to the island nation. Compared to potential smaller virtual networks, Faroese Telecom boasts its own infrastructure across the islands, ensuring more reliable service for its customers.

Beyond just voice and text, Faroese Telecom plays a critical role in delivering internet access, driving technological advancement and enabling economic growth within the Faroe Islands. Its network under MCC 288 and MNC 1 ensures compatibility with international devices allowing tourists and residents alike to stay connected. It is interesting to note that, unlike many European countries where multiple major operators compete fiercely, Faroese Telecom maintains a dominant position, reflecting the unique character and needs of the Faroese community.
