Description

Keewaytinook Okimakanak Mobile, operating as Keewaytinook Mobile, is a cellular network provider serving communities in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. As a vital telecommunications resource in a region where connectivity can be challenging, Keewaytinook Mobile plays a key role in bridging the digital divide. The network is identified internationally by its Mobile Country Code (MCC) of 302, which designates Canada, and its Mobile Network Code (MNC) of 380, a unique identifier assigned to Keewaytinook Mobile specifically. This MCC/MNC combination allows mobile devices to correctly identify and connect to the network, especially important when roaming or utilizing SIM cards from other providers across North America & Caribbean.

Keewaytinook Mobile distinguishes itself from larger national carriers like Bell, Rogers, and Telus by its focus on serving specific Indigenous communities. While the larger providers often face infrastructure and logistical hurdles in reaching remote areas, Keewaytinook Mobile has a mandate to provide service tailored to the unique needs and contexts of the Keewaytinook Okimakanak, a tribal council of First Nations in the region. This targeted approach allows for the development of services and infrastructure attuned to local priorities, promoting communication, education, and economic development within these communities.
