Description

The Halton Regional Police Service, operating within the province of Ontario, Canada, employs a dedicated mobile network identified by the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 302, representing Canada, and the Mobile Network Code (MNC) 991. This private network infrastructure ensures secure and reliable communication for law enforcement personnel across the Halton Region, which includes Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills. Unlike public cellular networks such as Bell Mobility, Telus, or Rogers Communications, the Halton Regional Police Service network prioritizes operational security and resilience designed for first responder communications.

The use of a dedicated MCC/MNC for the Halton Regional Police signifies a significant investment in public safety communications technology. Compared to relying solely on commercial networks, this approach gives the police service greater control over coverage in areas critical to their operations. The network facilitates essential voice and data services tailored to policing needs, potentially including encrypted communications and priority access during emergencies, setting it apart from typical consumer-grade mobile services available throughout North America and the Caribbean. Continuous investment ensures their radio network provides a safe and reliable service for all front line staff of the Halton Regional Police Service.
