Alltel US, operating under MCC 310 and MNC 54, was a prominent regional mobile network operator in the United States, specifically serving areas within North America & Caribbean. Although now integrated with Verizon Wireless, Alltel historically provided GSM, CDMA, and later LTE services to millions of subscribers. Its roots trace back to a collection of smaller telephone companies which combined to offer a comprehensive suite of mobile services, focusing heavily on customer care and regional coverage, sometimes outperforming the national networks in those specific geographic locations.

Alltel’s footprint was particularly strong in the Southern and Midwestern states. Unlike some nationwide incumbents like AT&T or T-Mobile, Alltel carved a niche by concentrating on more rural markets, often investing in infrastructure where larger providers were less inclined. Despite its independent success, the competitive landscape eventually led to its acquisition and integration into Verizon, expanding Verizon’s reach into areas traditionally served by Alltel and marking the end of Alltel as a standalone mobile network. The MCC/MNC code, which may still be seen within legacy systems, now redirects, essentially operating under Verizon's infrastructure.
