Description

Globalstar, operating in the United States (part of the North America & Caribbean region), is a satellite-based mobile network offering voice and data services. Identified by Mobile Country Code (MCC) 310 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 970, Globalstar distinguishes itself from traditional terrestrial mobile networks like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile by relying on a constellation of satellites to provide coverage in areas where cellular infrastructure is limited or non-existent. This makes it particularly valuable for outdoor enthusiasts, remote workers, and emergency responders who need reliable communication in remote areas across the USA.

Unlike GSM or CDMA networks, Globalstar utilizes a different technological approach, resulting in unique device compatibility requirements. Though originally conceived for broader mobile services, Globalstar's current focus is largely on satellite messaging, tracking, and emergency communications via satellite phones and specialized devices. The network plays a crucial role in ensuring safety and connectivity in regions where cell towers are sparse or unavailable, offering services such as emergency SOS and location tracking, which are fundamental to supporting remote operations within the US's vast landscapes.
