Sprint Corporation, operating in the United States of America (North America & Caribbean) was a major mobile network operator identified by its Mobile Country Code (MCC) 311 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 260. Originally a landline phone company, Sprint evolved to become a significant player in the US wireless market, known for its CDMA technology before later adopting LTE. At one time, Sprint was considered one of the "Big Four" national carriers, alongside Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, fiercely competing for market share by offering various data plans and mobile devices to American consumers. Sprint's legacy lives on, even though it officially merged with T-Mobile in 2020. The merger combined Sprint's network infrastructure and spectrum holdings with T-Mobile's, resulting in a strengthened T-Mobile network and wider 5G coverage. Prior to the merger, Sprint invested heavily in its own 5G network, attempting to leapfrog the competition; however, the financial strain eventually led to the agreement with T-Mobile. While the Sprint brand is gradually being phased out, impacts of the MCC 311 and MNC 260 can still be seen in some areas as network integration continues across the North American landscape.
