Description

The Special State Protection Service (SSPS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan operates its own dedicated mobile network within the country. This network is identified by the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 400, which designates Azerbaijan, and the Mobile Network Code (MNC) 05. This unique MCC/MNC combination distinguishes it within Azerbaijan's telecommunications landscape, setting it apart from commercially available networks like Azercell (MNC 04) or Bakcell (MNC 01). Given its function, the SSPS network likely prioritizes secure and reliable communication channels for state security purposes, employing technologies and protocols that may differ from those used by public mobile operators.

While specific details regarding the SSPS mobile network's infrastructure and services are understandably limited due to security considerations, its existence highlights the Azerbaijani government's commitment to maintaining robust and independent communication capabilities. Unlike typical mobile networks that cover the entire population, Coverage would likely be targeted to areas and people of interest. It's probable that the network uses specialized equipment and encryption methods to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of its communications, given it serves similar roles to the United States Secret Service or the UK's Royal Protection Command. The specific frequencies and technologies employed by the SSPS network are not publicly disclosed for security reasons, further emphasizing its distinct role within Azerbaijan's telecommunications ecosystem.
