Description

Aircel, operating in Jammu & Kashmir, India, under the Asia & Middle East region, was a prominent mobile network operator identified by the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 404 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 37. Aircel provided 2G and 3G services to customers primarily within the J&K region, facing competition from other major Indian telecom players such as Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone Idea. Focusing on affordability and localized offerings, Aircel aimed to capture a significant share of the mobile market in this geographically challenging area.

While Aircel ceased operations nationally due to financial difficulties, its presence in J&K served a vital role in connecting remote communities. The MCC 404 identifies India as a whole, while the MNC 37 specifically pointed to Aircel's network infrastructure. As a 3G network, it offered internet options, however, now that the network is gone, new providers operate in the region offering better broadband and faster data speeds. Although no longer active, Aircel's legacy remains a part of India's telecommunications history.
