Description

Uttar Pradesh (East) IDEA, operating within India's vibrant mobile landscape, utilizes the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 404, a key identifier for networks operating within the country. Its specific Mobile Network Code (MNC) is 89, differentiating it from other operators also using the Indian MCC. IDEA, now integrated into Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi), served a significant portion of the Uttar Pradesh (East) region, one of India’s most populous areas. The network provided crucial connectivity for both urban centers like Allahabad and Varanasi, as well as many rural communities. Pre-merger, IDEA was known for its competitive prepaid plans and growing 4G coverage.

Historically, IDEA competed with other major players like Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone (prior to the merger), each vying for market share through attractive data packages and extensive network reach. Serving Uttar Pradesh (East), IDEA faced unique challenges including diverse demographics and varying levels of technological adoption. Whilst operating as IDEA, the network consistently invested in infrastructure upgrades to enhance network reliability as the digital landscape continued to evolve in India. Now as part of Vi, the legacy of IDEA's network advancements continue to shape the telecommunications landscape in the region.
