Kerala Uninor (MCC 405, MNC 821) was a mobile network operator providing services in Kerala, India, part of the larger Uninor India operations. Uninor, whose full name was Unitech Wireless, was a joint venture between Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor and Indian real estate developer Unitech Group. It primarily focused on offering affordable mobile services to a broad customer base, differentiating itself through aggressive pricing and a "Sabse Sasta" (cheapest) approach, appealing especially to price-sensitive customers in the region. The Uninor network’s arrival aimed to spur competition within the Indian mobile market, which included established players like Airtel, Vodafone (now Vi), and Idea Cellular (also now Vi). While Uninor's operations were wide reaching in the Indian telecom landscape, serving many states, its presence in Kerala was specifically identified by the MCC 405 and unique MNC 821. Mobile Country Code 405 designates mobile networks operating in India, aligning with other providers across the country. However, the MNC 821 specifically identified the Uninor network within that geography in Kerala. Despite its initial popularity, Uninor's operations in India faced challenges, including license cancellations related to the 2G spectrum allocation case. Eventually, Telenor acquired a larger stake and rebranded the company as Telenor India, before later merging with Bharti Airtel. As such services associated with Kerala Uninor, under MCC 405 and MNC 821 have now ceased to exist, with customers being absorbed into the Airtel network.
