Description

Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT), operating in Myanmar, is one of the nation's largest and most established mobile network operators. Falling under the Asia & Middle East region, MPT boasts a significant presence, leveraging the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 414 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 04. As a state-owned entity, MPT has played a crucial part in connecting communities across Myanmar, offering a wide range of services from basic voice calls and SMS to more advanced mobile data solutions, competing alongside other key players like Telenor Myanmar (now rebranded as Atom) and Ooredoo Myanmar.

Initially holding a virtual monopoly, MPT has adapted to a more competitive market, striving to improve its network coverage and service offerings, including expanding its 4G LTE and potentially 5G capabilities in urban areas and beyond to meet the growing demand for faster mobile internet. Understanding that the MCC and MNC identify both the country and specific mobile network, MPT is a key part of Myanmar's telecommunications framework. It also provides international roaming services which allows Burmese citizens visiting other nations to stay connected.
