Description

China Telecom, a major state-owned telecommunications operator in China, provides extensive mobile network services across the country, playing a pivotal role in connecting millions of users. With a significant presence in the Asia & Middle East region, specifically within China, China Telecom operates under the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 460, which identifies China, and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 5. This combination, 460 05, uniquely pinpoints China Telecom within the Chinese telecommunications landscape, differentiating it from other prominent networks like China Mobile (MCC 460, MNC 00, 02, 04, 07, 08, 09, 11, 12, 15) and China Unicom (MCC 460, MNC 01, 06, 09, 10, 13, 20). China Telecom has heavily invested in 4G LTE and 5G infrastructure aiming to deliver nationwide coverage.

China Telecom has expanded aggressively over the last few decades. Originally focused on fixed-line services, China Telecom made a strategic shift into mobile communication, challenging the dominance of China Mobile. Known for its CDMA network in the past, China Telecom has transitioned to more advanced technologies like LTE and 5G, offering a range of services from basic voice and text to high-speed data and IoT (Internet of Things) solutions. Its expansive network and competitive pricing have made it a popular choice for both individual consumers and business users, contributing significantly to China's rapid digital transformation. The state owned organisation is based out of Beijing.
