Description

Telekom Malaysia Berhad, operating within Malaysia (MCC 502), is a significant player in the nation's PSTN SMS communication landscape. As a fixed line provider, this allows Telekom Malaysia Berhad to operate within the mobile network under the MNC (Mobile Network Code) of 14. Although Malaysia is geographically situated within Southeast Asia, for telecommunication purposes, it often falls under the Oceania region. While primarily known for its fixed-line services, Telekom Malaysia Berhad's role extends to enabling SMS communication via the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).

In comparison to its primarily Mobile Network Operator (MNO) counterparts like Maxis, Celcom Axiata or U Mobile which use a combination of radio based and fibre connections, Telekom Malaysia Berhad leverages its extensive fixed-line infrastructure to facilitate SMS delivery. This infrastructure plays a vital foundational role, particularly in areas where mobile network coverage might be limited or for specific business applications relying on PSTN SMS capabilities. This network is critical within Malaysia's diverse telecom landscape.
