PT Internux BOLT! 4G LTE, operating in Indonesia (Oceania), was a pioneering 4G LTE mobile network provider. Utilizing MCC (Mobile Country Code) 510, which identifies Indonesia, and MNC (Mobile Network Code) 88, BOLT! sought to deliver high-speed internet access to a growing market. Although ceasing operations in 2018, BOLT! played a significant role in the early adoption of 4G technology across the Indonesian archipelago, challenging established players in the telecom market. BOLT! distinguished itself through its focus on data services accessible through a range of mobile Wifi (MiFi) devices and affordable data packages. This was in contrast to some competitors primarily focused on voice services, at the time. While other networks like Telkomsel and Indosat Ooredoo offered broader coverage incorporating 2G and 3G networks, BOLT! concentrated its resources on the 4G LTE infrastructure in densely populated areas around Jakarta and Medan. The network's closure was reportedly due to regulatory issues and spectrum allocation challenges, highlighting the complex landscape of mobile network operations in Indonesia. Despite its relatively short lifespan, BOLT! influenced the evolution of mobile data accessibility in Indonesia and laid some groundwork for competitors who provide similiar mobile internet access services for consumers.
