Description

PLDT, operating via ACeS Philippines, represents a unique mobile network presence in the Philippines, a nation located within Oceania. Identified by its Mobile Country Code (MCC) of 515, which universally designates the Philippines, and the Mobile Network Code (MNC) of 11, PLDT through ACeS offers specialized communication services. Unlike the more prevalent GSM-based networks in the country, like Globe Telecom (MNC 02) or Smart Communications (MNC 03), ACeS utilizes a satellite-based infrastructure, providing coverage to remote and underserved areas where terrestrial cellular infrastructure is limited or non-existent. This makes PLDT via ACeS a critical lifeline for communication in regions beyond the reach of conventional mobile networks, especially important in an archipelago like the Philippines.

The focus of PLDT via ACeS Philippines is predominately on satellite-based communication solutions, often catering to maritime, aviation, and remote industries. Its infrastructure ensures connectivity in areas where laying down traditional cell towers is impractical or cost-prohibitive, offering voice and data services. While not directly competing with the broad consumer base targeted by GSM operators such as Globe and Smart, PLDT's ACeS network plays an essential role in bridging the digital divide. It provides vital communication links for emergency services, government agencies, and businesses operating in isolated locations throughout the Philippine archipelago, thereby contributing significantly to the nation's overall communication infrastructure resilience.
