UNN

Unified National Networks Sdn Bhd (UNN) is the sole mobile network operator in Brunei, Oceania. Unlike many countries with competing networks, UNN provides the infrastructure upon which all mobile services are delivered within the nation. This was established as part of a nationwide initiative to consolidate and upgrade the telecommunications infrastructure in Brunei, streamlining operations and aiming to improve network coverage and service quality across the country. UNN operates under Mobile Country Code (MCC) 528, which identifies Brunei, and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 03. This unique identifier allows mobile devices both within Brunei and internationally to connect to the UNN network when roaming. Before UNN's formation other mobile providers such as DSTCom (Data Stream Technology Communication) existed, now these providers operate as retail service providers instead of directly maintaining any network infrastructure. This shift allows them to focus on customer service, billing, and value-added services, while UNN concentrates on maintaining and developing the core network. This is a fundamental difference from neighbouring countries where multiple network operators compete directly on infrastructure.
