Description

Swazi Mobile Limited, operating in the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) in Southern Africa, holds the Mobile Network Code (MNC) 02 under the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 653. Eswatini, a relatively small and landlocked nation bordered by South Africa and Mozambique, relies heavily on mobile connectivity for both personal and economic activities. Swazi Mobile entered the market as a challenger to the established MTN Eswatini, aiming to provide alternative services and pricing that could stimulate competition and broaden access to mobile technologies for the population. The rollout of services included voice, SMS, and mobile data, seeking to connect both urban and rural communities across the country. As the second GSM operator in the country, its a relatively new network competing with the incumbent MTN Swaziland.

Focusing on data services, Swazi Mobile competes to provide affordable internet access in a country where connectivity can be a significant barrier, with services like 4G LTE now available. The operator, with MCC 653 and MNC 02, is also trying to increase cellular coverage by installing more towers in the country to allow more of the population to be connected to the internet, especially in rural areas of Eswatini. Facing stiff rivalry it is trying hard to increase the number of subscribers on their network, focusing on providing incentives and lower pricing. The network aims to become a pivotal part of Eswatini's communications landscape, leveraging its unique MCC and MNC to build a strong and dependable network for the nation.
