Description

Wireless Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd, operating under the brand name Rain, is a prominent mobile network and data-only service provider in South Africa. With Mobile Country Code (MCC) 655, identifying it within South Africa, and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 19, Rain distinguishes itself in the competitive telecommunications landscape of the nation. Unlike traditional mobile networks that offer voice and SMS services, Rain primarily focuses on providing high-speed data solutions, leveraging its advanced network infrastructure across key metropolitan areas such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban in the country.

Initially known for its fixed wireless broadband offerings, Rain has expanded its services to include mobile data bundles, challenging established players like Vodacom, MTN, and Cell C in the South African mobile market. Rain's data-centric approach has made it a popular choice amongst consumers seeking affordable and reliable internet access, particularly in a country where data costs have historically been a barrier to entry for many. The network's commitment to innovation and competitive pricing has positioned it as a key player in shaping the future of connectivity across South Africa and the wider African continent. Their 4G and 5G rollout plans continue to expand coverage and increase data speeds for their subscriber base.
