Description

MTN South Sudan, operating under the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 659 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 02, is a prominent mobile network operator in South Sudan. As part of the broader MTN Group, a multinational telecommunications company with a significant presence across Africa, MTN South Sudan provides essential communication services, including voice calls, SMS, and mobile data. Established in a country facing numerous developmental challenges, MTN has played a crucial role in connecting communities and fostering economic growth by increasing accessibility to mobile technology. Compared to other networks operating within South Sudan, MTN strives to offer widespread coverage, and competitive services to its users.

Given South Sudan's unique context, marked by infrastructure limitations and socioeconomic factors, MTN South Sudan's operations are often focused on overcoming logistical hurdles to expand network coverage, particularly in remote areas. While specific details of subscriber numbers and market share fluctuate, MTN is understood to be a major player in the South Sudanese telecom landscape. They provide a range of services targeting different segments of the population, including affordable data plans and mobile money solutions aiming to promote financial inclusion, with ongoing efforts being made to improve the network infrastructure in South Sudan, to compete with other networks in the region, as well as offer the best quality network coverage possible to its users.
