Description

Une EPM Telecomunicaciones S.A. E.S.P. operates as a mobile network provider in Colombia, a key player in the South & Central America telecommunications landscape. Identified by the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 732, which universally designates Colombia, and the Mobile Network Code (MNC) 142, Une provides cellular services to a significant portion of the Colombian population. As part of Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM), a major utility company, Une leverages its infrastructure and resources to deliver mobile connectivity alongside its other telecommunications and utility offerings. While Colombia is also served by other major players like Claro and Movistar, Une occupies a notable position, particularly in regions traditionally served by EPM's broader infrastructure.

The UNE brand in mobile communications has gone through several phases, becoming better known as Tigo-Une following a merger with Millicom's Colombian mobile subsidiary. This evolution reflected the increasingly competitive Colombian mobile market, pushing operators to consolidate and strengthen their market position. While the 732-142 MCC/MNC combination initially represented UNE's independent operation, the combined entity now operates under the Tigo brand, offering 4G LTE and other advanced mobile technologies to compete more effectively and continue to expand mobile coverage across Colombia. Understanding the MCC and MNC codes is crucial for identifying network operators, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and roaming effectively, especially for travelers and device configuration in regions like Colombia.
