Description

Telefónica Celular De Bolivia S.A., operating under the brand name Tigo, is a leading mobile network operator in Bolivia, South America. As a key player in the country’s telecommunications landscape, Tigo provides a wide array of services including mobile voice, data, and mobile financial services. The network utilizes the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 736, identifying it as a Bolivian network, and the Mobile Network Code (MNC) 03, uniquely distinguishing it within the Bolivian mobile market. Tigo’s presence is significant, competing with other operators like Entel and Nuevatel Viva, in providing connectivity across Bolivia's diverse geography.

Tigo is known for significant investments in network infrastructure, including expanding 4G LTE coverage and introducing innovative digital services. Their Tigo Money platform, for example, has become a popular option for financial transactions in a country where traditional banking access can be limited, particularly in rural areas. As Bolivia moves toward increased digital adoption, Tigo's role in providing accessible and reliable mobile communication and financial solutions remains crucial. The combination of MCC 736 and MNC 03 allows mobile devices and roaming carriers to correctly identify and connect to the Tigo network within Bolivia.
