About FonePlus

Sure (Diego Garcia) Ltd, operating under the FonePlus brand, provides the primary mobile network services on Diego Garcia, a part of the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT). As a remote and strategically important location, Diego Garcia's mobile communications infrastructure is primarily geared towards supporting military personnel and civilian contractors stationed there. With the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 995 denoting its unique location within the international telecommunications framework, and the Mobile Network Code (MNC) 01 identifying Sure (Diego Garcia) Ltd's specific network, FonePlus ensures connectivity in an otherwise isolated environment. Unlike more competitive mobile markets with multiple operators, FonePlus essentially holds a monopoly on the island, reflecting the unique geopolitical and logistical considerations of providing telecommunications services to this territory. The services offered by FonePlus are tailored to meet the demands of its particular user base, typically focusing on voice and data services necessary for communication and operational needs. While high-bandwidth or advanced mobile technologies common in other parts of the world may be limited or selectively deployed due to infrastructure constraints and demand, FonePlus provides essential communication links to the outside world. Access to reliable mobile communication is vital for the community residing on Diego Garcia, connecting them with family, facilitating work-related communication, and supporting the island's operations, emphasizing the importance of Sure (Diego Garcia) Ltd's role in this unique and geographically isolated community.
