FirstNet

AT&T Mobility FirstNet, operating in the United States of America (North America & Caribbean), is a unique mobile network differentiated from standard consumer offerings. Identified by its Mobile Country Code (MCC) of 312 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) of 670, FirstNet is specifically designed for first responders and public safety personnel. While AT&T Mobility also serves the general public, FirstNet prioritizes critical communications, offering dedicated bandwidth and enhanced network capabilities during emergencies and peak usage times allowing police, fire, and medical services to remain connected when other networks might be congested. Created via a public-private partnership with the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority), this network aims to overcome the interoperability challenges traditionally faced by different agencies during large-scale events. This contrasts with other carriers like Verizon or T-Mobile, which also operate extensive networks within the United States, but aren't inherently focused on public safety through a specifically deployed, prioritised network such as that enabled with FCC and Goverment support. FirstNet utilizes AT&T's existing infrastructure but is enhanced with Band 14 spectrum, providing higher capacity and coverage in both urban and rural areas across the country. This dedicated spectrum is crucial for ensuring reliable communication during natural disasters, large events, and other critical situations.
