Rajasthan IDEA (MCC 404, MNC 87) was a mobile network operator providing services across the state of Rajasthan, India, within the Asia & Middle East region. Functionally, it was part of a larger Indian mobile telecommunications landscape alongside major players like Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone. Using the Mobile Country Code (MCC) of 404, which identifies India, and the Mobile Network Code (MNC) of 87, Rajasthan IDEA was uniquely identifiable to mobile devices seeking network connectivity, particularly within the region of Rajasthan. The network was crucial in providing mobile communication services, connecting individuals and businesses in a geographically diverse and economically significant state. While locally focused on Rajasthan, IDEA Cellular ultimately merged with Vodafone India in 2018 to form Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi). This merger was a response to increasing competition within the Indian mobile market, especially following the disruptive entry of Reliance Jio. The consolidation allowed the combined entity to better compete in terms of network coverage, spectrum holdings, and customer base. Before the merger, Rajasthan IDEA played an important role in the local telecom infrastructure, providing essential connectivity services to the area and contributing to the state's economic and social development through improved communication. Post merger, the network infrastructure was harmonized and rebranded under the Vi brand, retaining the legacy of IDEA but operating under a consolidated corporate structure.
