Description

The mobile network "IDEA" serving Bihar & Jharkhand in India operates under the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 405 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 70. Part of the wider Indian telecom landscape, IDEA, now merged with Vodafone to form Vi, historically provided 2G, 3G, and 4G services to a substantial subscriber base in this eastern region of the country. Bihar and Jharkhand are significant states within India, representing a diverse population with varying needs for mobile communication, and the IDEA network played a key role in connecting these communities before its integration into Vi.

Prior to the merger, IDEA faced competition from other major Indian mobile carriers such as Airtel, Jio, and BSNL. The network's reach extended across the varied terrains of Bihar and Jharkhand, offering connectivity in both urban centers and more rural, underserved areas. The 405-70 MCC/MNC combination was crucial for identifying and routing mobile traffic within this specific network across the wider Indian telecommunications infrastructure, enabling seamless communication for its subscribers and playing a vital role in the digital inclusion initiatives within these states.
