About Skylink

CJSC Saratov System of Cellular Communications Skylink, operating in the Russian Federation, represents an interesting chapter in the nation's telecommunications history. Serving Europe's most expansive country, Skylink, identified by Mobile Country Code (MCC) 250 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 06, carved a niche within a competitive market. While giants like MTS, MegaFon, and Tele2 dominate the Russian mobile landscape, Skylink targeted specific segments with its services, with a historical focus on CDMA technology which set it apart from the GSM networks favoured by the larger players. Operating out of the Saratov region, in the Volga region of Russia, the brand provided a specific geographical influence, it brought mobile communication to areas where others may not offer similar communications. Its MCC of 250 firmly places it within Russia's telecommunications sphere, while the MNC of 06 uniquely identifies its network infrastructure and subscriber base. As the Russian mobile market evolves, examining Skylink's history and technological choices provide worthwhile insight into the diverse landscape of cellular communications in Europe. The mobile network allowed others to enjoy a stable data and communication connection, and was an integral piece of the development and technology history of Russia.
