About Nextel

Altán Redes, operating in Mexico under MCC 334 and MNC 140, represents a significant player in the North America & Caribbean mobile network landscape. Launched with the ambitious goal of bridging the digital divide, Altán Redes utilizes a shared network model. This innovative approach aims to provide widespread 4.5G LTE coverage, particularly in underserved rural communities throughout Mexico, a space that was underserved by incumbent leaders such as Telcel and AT&T Mexico. The company's mission directly aligns with Mexico's broader efforts to increase internet access and promote economic development. As a wholesale network, Altan Redes does not directly serve end consumers. Instead, they partner with Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) and other service providers, enabling these partners to offer mobile services using Altán Redes' infrastructure. This model fosters competition within the Mexican mobile market, giving consumers more choices and potentially driving down prices. The network's coverage is continuously expanding, striving to reach a larger percentage of the Mexican population and provide improved connectivity across diverse geographical regions within the country.
