AIRCEL, operating in Bihar, India (within Asia & Middle East), was a mobile network provider using the Mobile Country Code (MCC) 404 and Mobile Network Code (MNC) 25. This combination uniquely identified AIRCEL's network within India's telecommunications landscape, allowing mobile devices to connect and access services. AIRCEL, at one point, had a considerable presence across multiple circles in India, including Bihar, offering 2G and 3G services to subscribers. While AIRCEL aimed to compete with other major Indian telecom operators like Airtel, Vodafone Idea (Vi), and Reliance Jio, known for their extensive 4G and now 5G coverage, it faced financial challenges. Ultimately, AIRCEL filed for bankruptcy in 2018, leading to a gradual shutdown of operations and services across all circles, including the Bihar region. This left a void in the market, prompting affected subscribers to migrate to alternative providers to maintain connectivity. The MCC/MNC code 404-25, once synonymous with AIRCEL in Bihar, is now largely historical.
